Week 7
When the Path Sweeps You
Dissolving the Doer
This Week's Focus
Sometimes, if you stop trying to control the practice, it begins to practice you. This week explores what happens when effort becomes effortless.
"The sweeper and the swept become one. There's just sweeping."
Seven Daily Practices
Monday: Let Your Hands Lead
Choose a task requiring your hands. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Let your hands lead. You follow. Trust the body.
Time: 5-10 min
Tuesday: Find the Natural Rhythm
Do something repetitive: walking, washing, folding. Don't impose your rhythm. Find the rhythm that's already there and follow it.
Time: 10 min
Wednesday: Don't Plan the Next Step
Walk or move without planning ahead. Let each step discover the next. No destination. Just movement finding itself.
Time: 5-10 min
Thursday: Lose Track of Time
Do something absorbing. Don't check the clock. Let time dissolve. Notice what that feels like.
Time: Variable
Friday: Watch Yourself from Inside
As you move through a task, try to feel yourself from the inside. Not watching from outside, but being the watching. Who's watching?
Time: 5 min
Saturday: Complete Surrender
Choose a practice. Completely surrender to it. No agenda. No goal. Just full participation. See what happens.
Time: 10-15 min
Sunday: Integration & Reflection
Reflect: When did you feel most 'in flow' this week? What happens when you stop trying to control?
Time: Self-paced
