Week 1

The First Sweep

Beginning the Practice

The Practice Begins

This week is about slowing down enough to actually be present. Not meditation. Not breathwork. Just simple, repeatable actions that ground you in this moment.

You'll find your path and begin the practice of walking it. Some days will feel easy. Some will feel impossible. Both are part of the practice.

"You don't sweep a path to finish sweeping. You sweep to clear what's in front of you right now."

Seven Daily Practices

Monday: Find Your Path

The Practice: Choose a physical path you can walk—a hallway, a block, a loop around your house. It doesn't need to be special. Just repeatable.

Walk it once, slowly.

Notice: How long does it take? What do you see? What does it feel like to walk with no destination?

Reflection: This is your path for the week. You'll walk it again.

Time: 3-5 minutes

Tuesday: Walk Your Path

The Practice: Walk the same path you chose yesterday.

Notice what's different. Notice what's the same. Don't try to make it meaningful—just walk.

Notice: Do you want to rush? Do you want to skip it? Can you just walk anyway?

Time: 3-5 minutes

Wednesday: Notice the Rhythm

The Practice: Walk your path again. This time, pay attention to the rhythm of your steps.

Don't change anything. Just notice.

Notice: Is your rhythm fast? Slow? Uneven? Can you feel your feet on the ground?

Time: 5 minutes

Thursday: Feel Your Feet

The Practice: Walk your path. Focus entirely on the sensation of your feet touching the ground.

Heel. Toe. Repeat.

When your mind wanders (it will), return to your feet.

Notice: How many times did you wander? Can you return without judgment?

Time: 5-10 minutes

Friday: Return When You Wander

The Practice: Walk your path. When your mind wanders (planning, remembering, judging), simply notice and return.

No shame. No frustration. Just: "Oh, I wandered. I'm back now."

Reflection: Wandering isn't failure. Returning is the practice.

Time: 5-10 minutes

Saturday: Just Walk

The Practice: Walk your path. No instructions. No agenda. Just walk.

Notice whatever you notice. Let it be whatever it is.

Notice: What does it feel like to do something with no purpose except doing it?

Time: As long as feels right

Sunday: Integration & Reflection

No formal practice today—just reflection.

Journaling prompts (choose one or answer all):

  • What was the hardest part of this week's practices?
  • When did you feel most present? When did you feel most resistant?
  • What did "beginning" feel like in your body?
  • If the first sweep is about meeting yourself—what did you meet?

Optional sharing: Post one sentence in the community forum about what you noticed this week.

All of it is valid. All of it is practice.

Rest today. The path will be waiting.
